Jill Barnes Buckley

Associate Pastor for Community Ministry

Jill Barnes Buckley

Jill Barnes Buckley was welcomed on staff in November 2004. Before coming to Northminster, Jill spent several years working with homeless communities, including one year of internship with common cathedral, a church for the homeless that meets on the Boston Common.

From 1995-2000, she served as the Volunteer Coordinator at Stewpot Community Services (an ecumenical ministry serving the poor in Jackson, MS) where she recruited and scheduled volunteers, led chapel services, and helped with fundraising and public speaking. It was at Stewpot that Jill received her call to ministry.

Jill received her M.Div. from Boston University School of Theology in 2003 with a concentration in Urban Ministry. Her interests include racial reconciliation, community organizing and empowerment, and the Christian responses to poverty and the outsider.

A newlywed (March 2006), Jill enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, and their dog, Lucy. She also enjoys playing tennis, traveling, reading, watching movies, and learning how to cook!
