Opportunities abound to become involved in these important acts of Christian friendship. Here are a few ways you can offer your time, gifts, talents, and skills:
Help plan and implement Summer Kids Club, including:
- Preparing and bringing lunch
- Teaching Bible lessons
- Leading arts and crafts sessions
- Playing with the kids at the park
- Playing board games with the kids during the afternoon
- Tutor an elementary-age child once a week during the school year
- Offer your skills to help repair a house (with guidance from a skilled carpenter)
- Visit/call a senior citizen
- Help with planning, organization, and setup of a community meeting
- In the summer, lead music or the devotional at Operation Shoestring on a Tuesday or Thursday morning
Help plan and implement Teen Service Projects, for example:
- Cooking for a community shelter
- Planting flowers for a senior citizen
