DESCRIPTION:School is getting in gear and so are we! \nPromotion Sunday is August 9. Children and youth will promote to their new classes\, and adults will return to their classes after their summer break. \nChildren will receive a postcard with the name of their Sunday School class before Promotion Sunday. When they arrive that day\, they will be greeted at the desk in the Children’s entrance and taken to their class. \nYouth will meet in the Youth House and begin their study of the book of Exodus. \nAdults will return to their classes in the Adult Education building. SUMMARY:Congregational Meeting: Sunday\, August 9
DESCRIPTION:Dear Northminster Family of Faith\, \nWe will have a congregational meeting on Sunday\, August 9\, immediately following the morning worship service to consider a recommendation from the Search Committee for Associate Pastor for Community and Missions. \nAfter prayerful consideration\, the Search Committee recommends that Northminster call the Reverend Masyn Evans-Clements. \nMasyn earned her Master of Divinity degree from Logsdon Seminary in 2021 after completing a Bachelor of Behavioral Science in Ministry at Hardin-Simmons University in 2018. During her studies\, she gained valuable ministry experience interning with youth programs at First Baptist Church of Abilene and Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas. Since 2019\, Masyn has served at The Church at Highland Park in Austin\, transitioning into the role of Associate Pastor following her ordination in 2021. In her ministry\, she has overseen outreach\, communications\, missions\, and Christian education for all age groups; supervised ministry staff; and regularly participated in worship-planning and preaching. Additionally\, she serves on the Board of Directors for Jesse C. Fletcher Seminary and co-founded a non-profit that facilitates youth camps\, retreats\, and ministry resources. Masyn and her husband\, Brandon\, have two children\, Millie and Fletcher. \nIn its conversations with Masyn\, the Search Committee was deeply impressed by her well-rounded background in church leadership\, her strong communication skills\, and her genuine enthusiasm for expanding and deepening Northminster’s community ministries. \nWe offer our thanks and appreciation for the work of the Search Committee: Andy Frame (chair)\, Blakely Fender\, Gray Jackson\, Solon Smith\, John Studdard\, Bill Thompson\, and Margie Van Meter. \nPlease join us on the 9th as we consider this call. \nWilson Stribling \nChair\, Board of Deacons \nTo see more about Masyn\, please see the link below: \nSearch Committee Calls Rev.
