Committee Spotlight: Adult Ministries Committee
The Adult Ministries Committee comprises lay people who, in partnership with clergy staff, develop and oversee educational programming and spiritual formation for adults at Northminster. Whether it’s Sunday School, Adult Studies, Lecture Series weekends, or Lunch and Learn events, our committee is charged with 
carefully crafting programming that is enriching and formative. And while it’s our hope and intention that participants receive spiritual nourishment, it’s also our responsibility to ensure physical hunger is met as snacks and drinks are always on hand. For instance, what paired best with Scott’s 2026 Spring study on the Birth of Satan? Devil’s Food Cake, of course!
There is certainly much seriousness in our commitment to creating programming that stimulates and challenges Northminsterites, like the FED Talk series we’re currently offering. (Come hear fellow Northminsterites talk about “What I See Differently Now” at 5:30 this Sunday in the Great Hall!) But this year our plans also include fun events intended to foster fellowship and forge friendships. To that end, our Spring Adult Studies included a first-ever Northminster Trivia Night. This fall, Adult Studies will culminate in a Musical Bingo Night, a friendly competition testing team members’ knowledge of songs from both sacred and popular genres.
