Deacons
From the very beginning of the church, Deacons have been those within the congregation called to the humble but holy work of caring for the needs of others. In the Baptist tradition, Deacons at Northminster are those within our congregation who are called to servant leadership: administering Communion, preparing the church buildings for worship and fellowship, leading through governance and discernment, and supporting our ministries.
The Deacon Board consists of 18 Deacons who are elected by the congregation in September of each year. Our service of Ordination and Installation occurs during morning worship in the beginning of the year, and Deacons serve for a 3-year term.
