Giving at Northminster

Northminster has a legacy of generous stewardship of our resources to support the church’s mission and ministry in Jackson and beyond.

Where to Give

The General Budget

The general budget supports the primary, day-to-day, essential work of the church. This includes the church’s operating budget, as well as budgeted yearly gifts to our missions and denominational partners, which is always in excess of 20% of the operating budget. The general budget is the most important fund to include in your financial stewardship, and is the default account for all tithes and non-directed gifts. Each year the congregation approves a budget proposed by the Finance Committee, and is asked to make a pledge in support of it.

Other Designated Accounts

In addition to the general budget, Northminster receives special gifts to support specific ministries within the church (youth, children’s, music, etc.) through designated accounts. Before making a gift to a particular designated account, please reach out to the pastoral staff or respective committee chair to coordinate your gift.

Northminster has a long history of generous support for our Pastors’ Benevolence Fund. This fund is administered by the pastoral staff to provide direct assistance to those in our community and beyond. Assistance often comes in the form of paying utility bills, providing rental assistance, food, transportation, funeral expenses, and disaster relief.

If you would like to contribute to a ministry other than the general budget, be sure to mark the designation on your offering envelope, check, online gift, or email.

Legacy Giving

The Northminster Legacy Giving Ministry offers members and supporters a pathway to share the hope of the gospel and the mission of our church, both within our walls and in our other places, through estate and planned gifts. For more information, contact Sam South, Financial Secretary.
