Bible Camp Spotlight
Thank you to everyone who helped make Bible Camp such a wonderful weekend! This year’s camp theme was A Crowded Table, and throughout the weekend our children explored the ways Jesus welcomes, feeds, and celebrates with people.
Through the stories of Zacchaeus, the feeding of the five thousand, and the wedding at Cana, we discovered three things about God’s table: everyone belongs, there is enough, and joy is meant to be shared. Our children heard the stories, asked questions, cooked and created together, and practiced our theme verse from Acts 2:46: “They ate together with glad and generous hearts.” Our older children dug into Scripture and discussed what these stories might mean for the way we live together, while our younger campers experienced the stories through movement, play, and wonder. The stories were punctuated by experiences of food: we made Rice Krispie treat trees for Zacchaeus, trail mix as we talked about the feeding of the crowd, and celebration necklaces as we explored Jesus’ first sign at the wedding in Cana. We gathered together for assemblies each day, where we sang our theme song and our youth helped bring the theme to life through skits and Scripture memory games. More than anything, we hope our children left Bible Camp knowing that God’s table is a place of welcome, generosity, and joy!
A very special thank you goes to Kay Sullivan, who lovingly made all of the aprons worn by our Bible Camp volunteers. Her beautiful work helped make our Crowded Table come to life and will serve as a reminder of all that we learned and enjoyed.
And thank you to every volunteer who gave time, energy, creativity, patience, and love to our children. We are so grateful for everyone who helped set the table!
