We’ve entered the season of the year here at Northminster in which we begin to take stock of all we have seen and heard and done in this place over the past several months, and make plans for the year ahead.
The Committee on Committees has begun its work filling our many committees with leadership and members. You can let them know of your willingness or interest by filling out this form. Recognizing that there is much service needed at the church and in the community that can be done outside of official committee service, the Committee has also created a way to connect members with opportunities to do just that.
Our Finance Committee has been hard at work crafting the budget for the coming year. This will be included in our Annual Report along with a pledge card, which you’ll receive in the mail later this month. This now-yearly publication will seek to tell the story of the past year, complete with pictures, charts, and graphs.
We will present the Annual Report and the proposed budget over breakfast during the Sunday School hour on November 8. You’ll get to hear from the pastors and different committee chairs and representatives as we celebrate the gift of this past year together.
The following Sunday, November 15, we will have our annual Congregational Meeting where the budget will be presented again and the floor will be open for questions and discussion preceding the vote for approval.
Amidst all of this, we will remember those who we have lost over the past year in our All Saints’ observance in worship on November 1, followed by vespers that evening at 5:30. This moving service always serves as a potent reminder of the life we share in this place.
Thank you for all the ways you participate in and add to this common life, each one of us making it richer, more complete, and closer to the life of God to which we are called.
